When it comes to finding food items for your “Bug Out Bags” you’ll want to include items that:

  • Are easy to “open and eat” right out of the package and don’t require heating.

  • Offer more sustenance for prolonged emergencies. These items include freeze dried meals and MRE’s.

  • Most importantly, ONLY include items that you know your family would eat!

☑️TODAY’S TASK: LOOK IN YOUR PANTRY AND SEE IF THERE ARE ITEMS YOU CAN ADD TO YOUR BUG OUT BAG. TRY TO HAVE ENOUGH FOOD FOR 3 DAYS. HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS:

☑️AFTER YOU HAVE A BASIC FOOD SUPPLY IN YOUR BAGS WITH ITEMS YOU ALREADY HAVE AT HOME, ADD THESE ITEMS TO ENHANCE YOUR “BUG OUT BAGS”. These items have a longer shelf life and you won’t have to worry about rotating as often:

  • FREEZE DRIED MEALS - There are a lot of brands to choose from. Keep in mind you’ll need water to reconstitute these meals.

  • MRE’s - These meals are ready to eat right out of the package.

  • EMERGENCY FOOD RATION BARS - These are great because they are compact and they are a “open and eat” option. While there are quite a few flavors and brands to choose from, most of them taste like a shortbread cookie.

  • MILLENNIUM ASSORTED ENERGY BARS - These bars have more flavors to choose from compared to the Food Ration Bars. Some of the flavors include orange, raspberry, tropical fruit, lemon, and blueberry.
