When it comes to finding food items for your “Bug Out Bags” you’ll want to include items that:
Are easy to “open and eat” right out of the package and don’t require heating.
Offer more sustenance for prolonged emergencies. These items include freeze dried meals and MRE’s.
Most importantly, ONLY include items that you know your family would eat!
☑️TODAY’S TASK: LOOK IN YOUR PANTRY AND SEE IF THERE ARE ITEMS YOU CAN ADD TO YOUR BUG OUT BAG. TRY TO HAVE ENOUGH FOOD FOR 3 DAYS. HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS:
☑️AFTER YOU HAVE A BASIC FOOD SUPPLY IN YOUR BAGS WITH ITEMS YOU ALREADY HAVE AT HOME, ADD THESE ITEMS TO ENHANCE YOUR “BUG OUT BAGS”. These items have a longer shelf life and you won’t have to worry about rotating as often:
FREEZE DRIED MEALS - There are a lot of brands to choose from. Keep in mind you’ll need water to reconstitute these meals.
MRE’s - These meals are ready to eat right out of the package.
EMERGENCY FOOD RATION BARS - These are great because they are compact and they are a “open and eat” option. While there are quite a few flavors and brands to choose from, most of them taste like a shortbread cookie.
MILLENNIUM ASSORTED ENERGY BARS - These bars have more flavors to choose from compared to the Food Ration Bars. Some of the flavors include orange, raspberry, tropical fruit, lemon, and blueberry.
